there are 2 metal strips used with each top.. one attaches to tha top and has tha 4 square nuts in it right? then there is another metal strip (kinda like plumbers use for strapping except has a short 90* edge to keep it straight) that attaches to tha straight piece of tha rubber where tha 4 screws goin' thru it to tha square nuts already on tha top, correct so far?.. i can't find a replacement part that attaches to tha straight part with tha 4 "slots" (for adjustment) of tha rubber... is there such a replacement part available???.......... LOST????
oh yeah, this piece also has a curved part on tha very end ta fit tha top.... see pic..
Which year are you working on and please post some photos at different angles I am having a difficult time determining exactly where this fits.
68 -69 havea two piece T-top weatherstripping (one that seals the top of the glass to the T-top and then the surround is a 2nd piece)
- 70 and up have a one piece surround BUT there are 3 uniquely different surround weatherstrips used between 70-82
I have NOS seals here I can look at from 68-69's and 70 - 75
looks like they (top flight) sent wrong piece.. tha later models and reproduction pieces have tha "retainer" infused in tha weather strip already... Melrose was very helpful in discovering this change.. jus really surprised this hasn't come up before that i know of... anyway problem is solved and i'm a happy 'ole man again.............
