Following this thread as I am also trying to removed unnecessary wiring. The ECM was gone long before I purchased my 81 almost 10 years ago. Understood there are differences to the 82. All gauges working although I read here that oil pressure gauge and choke might be intermixed with the cable. Previous owner must have taken care of that. The distributor is also updated with vacuum advance.
Also, I converted to 4 speed 3 yrs ago so no automatic trans to deal with.
Not hijacking this thread but as you remove wiring and connectors could you just keep updating this to let us know if you run into any gremlins. Thanks.
