Default Removable window frame disassembly

Hello,

Does anyone know how to disassemble the removable rear window frame on a 72 coupe? I see that the bottom straight section (where the locating pins attach) is a separate piece and I see a screw on each side that seems to hold the bottom piece to the curved upper portion but removing those screws does nothing, the glass is holding it very firmly. I'm nervous of breaking the glass if use any more force. Is there a trick or technique for safely separating these pieces?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for highlighting this link Alan, I should have looked a bit harder using search! The previous owner stripped out the holes in the frame that the locating pins attach to and tried to fix it by drilling new holes along side that he stuffed self tappers into, stripping those also. I figure if I can remove the lower portion of the frame I can fill the holes with steel reinforced epoxy and tap them out for the more correct #6 machine screw. However, I think I might hit pause on this project and see if I get any bright ideas before trying to disassemble the frame. The Mooser is definitely a font of knowledge!

+1 on good wishes for a very generous forum contributor!!

Sadly, I tried drilling out the screws the PO snapped off in the lower window frame and shattered the glass. So now I have no choice but to separate the frame and install new glass. Reading Mooser's notes I see that there are roll pins set diagonally across the bottom corners of the frame. What isn't clear is if these pins need to be drilled out first or if the frame is intended to flex enough to work around them. Do you happen to have an opinion on that? Appreciate you as always!
