Default Seat swap

Hey Guys and Gals, I`m looking to add put some new seats in my 69 convertible. I love the 2 tone colors of the late models. Will a c4 or c5 seat fit with the exiting tracks.

Here is the aftermarket seat resource thread. It talks about the different modifications for c4/5 seats too.

C4 seat fit fine oem existing track. You just need to make ( or you can buy) adapters to line up the C4 bases to the C3 track. I made mine out of 2" flat stock. Pretty easy and very happy with the results.

Thanks for the nice words. Yes the seats look nice and function really well. Not sure if you can see it in the pics but the center is black leather perforated w/ red. Same as the door panels. The car will be red, eventually. That is a C4 console. It took a lot of trial and error and fitting to get it to morph into the C3 gauge pod. Then fitting a B & M shifter just added to the "fun". Lots of CHANGING DIRECTION but it all started because I wanted cup holders! As in the C4, there are 2 under the flip up lid on the right. And the steering wheel is NRG 792926.

I put a set of C5s in my 69 and took off the sliders. It took away leg room and had the steering wheel way to close. Pulled the seat and put the 69s back in . Listed the C5s for sale

I'm currently fitting some Mazda Miata (MX-5 in UK) 'tombstone' seats to my 1977 restomod. I took the runners off the new seats and fabricated a custom adaptor frame from steel strip and a few bits of box section.
I've got the passenger seat in, no problems, it's tight but easily doable. On with the drivers side now, I should have it all done by the end of the week.
The only non-reversible I've done was trim a bit of the carpet to make the new frame sit flush.

I put C4 seats in my '70. The front mounting holes aligned perfectly with the C3 tracks. I had to make adapter plates to line up the rear holes. Be aware though you will lose some legroom because the C4 seat backs are thicker than the originals so you cannot move the seats back as far as before.
