Default Mystery Wire

Hey Folks,
I'm replacing carpet in my '69 and have found some interesting things, one of which is this wire that is still in its clips, but cut on both ends. I can't find reference to it in the AIM or anything. Can anyone help ID this wire? Runs on the passenger side of the console.

Thanks for any information that can be provided.

Just a guess, radio antenna wire.

I agree, looks like a coaxial cable that would run from the radio to the antenna. On a 73 the cable runs along the inner door sill.

That's right where the antenna wire is on my 77.

Thanks Guys. I was suspecting, and oddly enough hoping, that it was the antenna. Lot of cutting has gone on and that was the least critical thing I could hope for.

According to the 69 AIM the antenna cable should run along the driver door frame. On cars without AC there is a vacuum line that runs in that area for the Astro Ventilation to work, but that doesn't look like a vacuum line.
There is a fiber optics harness that comes from the rear of the car, but I think that it is on the driver's side of the console. If your car has electric windows the harness to the switches in the parking brake console go on the passenger side of the console.

My December 1969 production car (no A/C) has the coax on the driver’s sill.

January 1969 build. Vacuum line for rear vents and radio antenna was on the side sill.

In your pic, this wire routes through the bracket that holds what's left of mine. Where does yours go?

Hello BL,
In the photo in post #9 the arrow points toward the very small copper tube.
It's the vacuum supply line for the astro-ventilation operation on the rear deck just rear-ward of the back window.
It runs along the passenger side of the center tunnel, across the bottom of the seat bulkhead, up the lock pillar and then changes to a rubber hose in order to connect to the astro vent actuator.
You can also see the radio antenna cable on the lock pillar.
Regards....

Thanks Alan! I may just have a red herring lying around from a previous hacker. These photos are great. Thank you again.
