New to me, 1968 convertible - Non A/C . Blower motor does not work - will run when jumpered separate from the car(so motor function) have found I have power at the ground wire - the black wire that shares with wiper - it was unplugged ( hmm) . Tracing wiring it goes into bundle down to starter but do not see it coming out of bundle at solenoid - any thing thoughts or help appraciated
Hello,
Welcome!
New 68!! Nice!!!
Here's the electrical connections from a 71.
I'm not sure if this might be typical for a 68 too?
Do you have a copy of the 68 electrical schematic?
Regards......
Yes th, that the way mine is hooked up as well - what it can figure out is where the Gound is picking up a positive - I can trace the wire two black wires from Gound at blower motor and pne goes to wiper motor ground (which was unplugged - I see the Krull’s down to starter /solenoid but do not see a wire of that gauge coming out down there???
Solved it - evidently some time in the past the wire bundle that runs down to starter must have contacted the manifold and burned through couple wire spliced there then wrapped in elec tape - the black Gound wire new wire is brown (which is usually power ) and then the solenoid was recently replaced and they wired it to positive side - the wipe motor ground was off but the blower motor regulates on the ground side so there was not short just positive to posite so not actual circuit - dropped starter and moved wire to ground strap - all good everything works - wish I hadn’t had to pull half the interior apart to find I didn’t need any new parts that I ordered- blower motor - resistor - fan switch .
