I have some crazy stuff going on and I hope someone can help. I was testing my flashers and pulled out the button on the column to turn them on.Went to push it in to turn them off and ,no go.It will not push in the switch so they stay on not good.. Pulled the flasher on the fuse box to get them to turn off. They turned off but now when I hit the brakes both turn signal lights in the dash come on along w/ the lights in the front grill.I now have no turn signals but now I have front brake lights also.WTF? Electrical issues drive me crazy. Anyone hear of this or had this happen to them?
Not sure for a 1976 model Corvette, but on my 73 the Hazard Lights button is part of the turn signal board that is located in the steering column. I am guessing that if you turn the steering wheel, it will cancel the hazard lights, it’s worth a try. I changed the turn signal board and it wasn’t terribly bad, just do some research and look for step by step instructions. Good Luck.
I did replace the TS switch@5 yrs ago. Not a fun job.I would think if the switch broke on the flasher it would be floppy loose. It just wont push back in.

Well, the 4 way flasher function is an integral part of the turn signal switch. You could try tapping firmly but gently with a small hammer. If that doesn't do it, perhaps remove the steering wheel and the steering column lock plate. Once the turn signal switch is exposed you can free up the 4 way flasher portion of the switch. And, if that doesn't do it, you'll need to replace the turn signal switch.
FYI, the 4 way flasher function of the TS switch is circled in red. The 4 way flasher **** is mounted in the center of that part of the TS switch. As you know, it's just a simple pull out to turn on, push in to turn off.
Update Tore into the column down to the TS switch to find that it wasnt broke it was catching in an edge and wouldnt release.A little lithium grease and all is good. Thanks for the replys
