You might have more than one problem. but if the door closes before the wipers are parked it sounds like the vacuum switch interlock is defective. The switch sits on the passenger side where the wiper would hit it when it parked. If it is bad, you want to replace it with a switch that has a black top. For some time there were switches that had a white top and they had a high failure rate. The vacuum switch is in the red circle.

It's quite possible to put the wiper switch connector on the switch upside down.
The small tab was added to the switch but it's still possible to make the connection upside down.
Has the connector been off lately?

Some folks are color blind which makes following your drawings a bit of a mystery sometimes.
Might you consider giving even a 1 letter guide for the colors.....
B blue, G geen, etc?
