Default Tach removal help

I need to remove my mechanical tach to convert to an electronic one. Any helpful hints on the easiest way to remove a tach on a '68 ? Anything that I should look out for or be extra careful with ??

Thanks for the help

Default Re: Tach removal help (BIGsteve)

1) Well - first you have to drop the steering column. (Remove all the bolts that hold the steering column and lower it.
2) remove all the screws that hold the drivers side dash in place
3) pull dash forward until you can access the tach mounting bolts easily.
4) Remove the bolts that hold the tach and remove the tach..
5) installation is the reverse of the removal.
The wiring of the tach is pretty easy:
One wire goes to - another one to + and the 3rd one to the tach port of the HEI distributor...or to the + side of the coil
