It's just a cheap 1:25 scale plastic model, but it's all they make for a '72 LT-1 convertible. Too much lighting was combined with the flash in my second pic (blue is actually darker - a la first pic).
Re: Finally Finished the Model... (foundvettelifeisgood)
Since it's a model of my actual car, yes, the numbers actually do match!
I wanted this model to match the car as best possible, and took my time on it (several hours total). The gauges were painted, the body emblems were painted, the P/B booster and AIR system were removed, etc. It was fun overall, as I had not built one of these models since I was ~12!
That's really cool. You did a great job. Now that my car is finished, and I can take back control of my garage, I'd like to build one myself. I used to build these all the time, when I was younger. They are a lot of fun.
Very nice job! :) I had fun doing mine, but i really butchered the interior, and it looks like you did a real nice job on the details, like the chrome things for the convertible top on the deck lid, and the nose emblem! It's a lot of fun to put it on your air cleaner at car shows! :) (The little kids really love it!) :) MJ
Cool   I'm still trying to collect the right kits to build a replica of mine :yesnod: I still need to get a 78 pace car kit for the front spoiler and I should be set
I still build 'em too. I just finished a replica of the pewter '72 that gave me Corvette Fever when I was 3, and I built a replica of my buddy's Z car that he puts on the dash when he enters car shows. I'm eventually going to build one like the Slug, but I need to get the real car finished first.
check ebay. sometimes you can find old kits. you may have to look for a while, but they're out there. one caution - corvette kits bring a premium, especially the older ones.
Nice work!!! The interior looks like the actual interior color.
Only took hours???? I've been building a custom 74 to work out the details of what I'm going to do to my car for over a year. I easily have 40 hours of work in the body alone!
Good job  , now my '72 is white with black int..............
To all who are interested, check Walmarts for models. Revell is doing a 50th thing and putting out about all years in 1:25 plastic. Johnny Lighting is also doing all 50 in 1:64 scale diecast, the sharks that I have found(mostly at Targets) look good. :seeya
