Here is the reply from MSD I got today:
"Sir
We suggest that you do not mount the coil more then 45º from
vertical. You can mount it horizontally, but you might expose the coil
windings causing the coil to run hotter and promote premature failure.

Blaster 2, 3 & 3F are oil-filled canister and should be mounted as near to vertical as practical ... stock manifold-mount angle ok. Blaster High Vibration is epoxy-filled canister & can be mounted at any angle. I have a spare nib hi-vibe if anyone needs to mount horizontal ... email me if interested.
