Default what headers should I get?

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a set of headers in the near future and I need some advice. It's a '79 with a/c. (the last headers I had didn't fit due to the air conditioning).

In about 2 weeks time I'll be converting my car to true duals w/ no cats. 2 1/4" pipes w/ H-pipe, with the flowmaster delta flow 40's that I just bought. I need some recommendations on headers to buy. The most important thing is that they fit! Then of course, that they sound good with the mufflers. =)

thanks,
-kev

1 1/4 pipes?? That backed with headers isn't going to help performance at all.

I'd go with atleast 2 1/4 piping.

But, DynoMax ceramic coated headers work fine. Check on Jegs, they have specific headers for 63-82 Corvette's.

The coated dynomax are the best bang for your buck. Lots of folks here have em and like em.

I have the dynomax ceramic coated headers, I'm very happy with them, if you have a/c you need to get a new bracket for it though. I took out the a/c on my car when i got headers so i didn't have to worry about it

I've got the DynoMax ceramic coated headers too. Though I'm not too happy with the state of the ceramica coatings on them..They're the best bang for the buck.

Maybe. But the headers in the picture are NOT for a SB Chevy. Look more like BB to me...

Prost:cheers:

Hey, I plan to keep my a/c. Do you know where I can get the hanger and what it's called?

I'm not sure what it's called, but i do know the part number for it comes with the instructions for installing the headers, i'm sure you could oder it though any parts supplier, or as another alternative have an exhust shop make you one, the place where i got mine installed at said they could make one very easilt for me if i wanted one

I bought the Hedman with the ceramic coating,They have the "D" shaped ports to fit the Edelbrock Performer heads I have,I also have AC and they have a bracket for that however The bolts that they supply are too short and they have to be modified,Other than that I am satisfied with them.
