I know it's been beat to death but I REALLY need new seat belts and I have a chance to get some from a 2001 Camaro (rear seat belts) for $75/pr. and I wanted to see if anyone thought they would not work.

Re: Camaro Seat Belts (Mystery Machine)
I believe Juliet put a set of late model Camaro reat seat belts in her 70 model. This is one of the mods that I think we all should do if you only have lap belts like me.
I ordered them...if you are interested the guy said he has plenty in various colors. I don't think I am supposed to post a direct link to his web site but you can IM me and I'll send it to you if interested. The price seemed good...$75/pair.
Bought some from a 2000 Camaro for my 72. THEY WORK!!!!!!
Paid $75.00 also. :yesnod: When I called, the guy yelled out to his co-workers..."Hey...got another Corvette guy on the line...we got any rear Camaro belts left?"

I was the first one to get them and back then (5 years ago) no one had any use for the camaro belts. I got them from graham and remember he said " you want rear belts out of a camaro? Sure, no one wants that stuff. You can have them for $25". Nowadays I think rear belts is the stuff he sells the most of! :)
I am also in need of some new belts. Can you please give me the details: what year(s) Camaro and which belts. What else do I need to know before I go looking for parts?

93-up Camaro or Firebird REAR belts. I think they bolt straight in a 69. They did in my 71. 68 needs a custom bracket.
Do the seat belt cause any abnormal wear on your C4 seats?
I have '68 lap belts, will I need anything else besides the Camaro rear seat belts for it to work? Are you using the stock latch, or is it also out of the Camaro?
On a 73 there is a pin that sits about an inch forward of the mounting bolt so the retractor can't pivot. You need to drill a hole in the F body belt retractor so it sets level. The male end of the buckel will also come apart so you can thread the belt through the seat.

Nope, do not bolt up straight in a '69. You need to drill holes or install brackets. Bolts right up with '70 & later, though. Keep an eye on ebay--I bought a set there for '$20 (after I'd paid $50 to Billy Graham's for another set!).
