Default Line Lock Assistance Please

I am hoping to try to install my Hurst line lock at some point this week. If I can get it installed this week I am taking the 'Vette to the track on Saturday.

So does anyone have any tricks or easy methods of installing a line lock? What other parts should I purchase before starting the installation (brake lines, fittings etc...)?

Any step by step assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The setup is fairly easy. Pull the front line from your master cylinder to the brass block.

Figure where you are going to mount the loc. I mounted mine where the windshield washer tank bolt went through the fender.

Go to any parts store with the line you just took off and the loc. They will have line and adapters, just pick the length of brake line you need. Two pieces.

Bleed front brakes.

I grounded the unit to the frame right under where I mounted it. The power was run through the dash. There is a four hole plug in the firewall that had an open hole.

I then run it to the lighter power, from there to a coiled cord that comes out next to the seat with a micro switch on the end.

Hope this helps.

Are you going to use a two step with your line lock?

Terry:
Thanks for the information, it seems like a pretty easy installation. I'm hoping I can find some time before the weekend to install it so I can take my car to the track to see what she'll turn this season. Once again thanks.

Glenn:
No I'm just running the line lock so that I can hold the slicks in the burnout box with my 4 speed tranny. That way I don't have to try to "heel-toe" the brake and gas pedal.

With your motor I would not even think of a line lock burn out without a stutter box (two step switch). She'll float so fast you will never see it.
