Default T-top squeeks!

I have owned my 72 LT1 coupe for over two years and in that time, the tops squeek like the mouse olympics are in full swing. The tops are tight and there isn't any movement if you push up or down on them. Is it possible that the locking levers are too tight? Need to be tighter? I can't imagine that making them any tighter will help. In fact, making the locking levers any tighter scares me.

Any ideas? This is driving me crazy.

I had the same problem, I used a small tube of silicon gel from Mid America, it's called weatherstrip protectant and it makes the weatherstrip stop squeeking. :yesnod:

..also known as dielectric grease - works great and is recommended by GM.
