With an IQ of 143, you should know how old you are :)
Let me get my sub genius IQ working on this. Graduated HS @ 17 years 3 months. So, if Alabama is like everywhere else I lived, HS graduation is in June, which puts your birthday in March or April. College starts, in most every case, around September when you are 17. If you are in your 3rd year of college you should be at least 17 + 3 = 20, not 19.
Where am I going wrong?
I could continue, but I have to go watch O'Riley. HEH!! Are you sure you're not from Canada?
Well I do have to admit, he may be bsing, but some of us wonderful vette people are being extremely rude, even if he is a fake, there's no reason to act the way we are.
I am 18 and own a vette as a project car, have had for a year now. I got a 29 on my act. It's not uncommon for people to graduate school junior year instead of senior year(know several people that did). And also about him being a junior in college at 19... With lots of work and some high school college credits, its possible to completely skip freshman year in college. I'm going in with about half of my first semester done, but I'm a slacker and want to enjoy the school process and party a little. I got a full truition waver to college with a GPA of 4.0 throughout High School.
Ebbsvette is a little bit unsure of most of his info(so he either knows nothing about cars or he is bsing), but he has been trying to fix himself and wants to learn. A picture and getting more info on the car would be going on his part. Even if he is bsing, his question's could probably help answer some other people passive questions.
I know I've asked a couple of very common questions, just I don't have a great income to pay for everything I may want, so I make due and only get what I can.
Also, the C3 board is always talking about how rude and different the C5 drivers are. For gods sake, we all have one thing in common, owning a vette or having a passion for a vette, and thats what binds the many of us together, our passion for a true american vehicle. Don't be so harsh guys/gals. At least he said he chose a vette over a hummer or lexus :D
thank you....i know alil about cars, new cars. thats bout it.....im still learning bout older vettes...and about this school? yea...graduated early...blah and blah...its not hard in public school system....see next time i ask for advice....please just give advice instead of showing me ur true maturity levels...thanks
yes.. draginslayer is correct in many of his assumptions. however i have to contend with the matter in which ebbsvette postings were. don't act like the innocent wounded one. you instigated the majority of the discersion. asking a question in true genuine sincerity is one thing. being a boastful young adolesant is another.
I looked at your photos. I like the stripe on the car. The ground effects/front end certainly give the car a different look than my '75. I noticed you also carried the black/yellow theme into the interior... interesting... Not my cup of tea, but shows a lot of work going into the car (regardless of whether you or someone you paid did it). The "style" of the mods seems much more "modern" tastes in car hot-rodding. It seem to carry themes from the sport compact area. (I try not to use the r**e term...)
You may call some of his mods rice like, but I think it's just adding a more modern look to an old car. I think it adds a definite sport look thats different. Some of the same mods are on new corvettes and other sports cars(spoilers, ground effects, wheels). Not sure how you feel about these, but it's the same effect. It's just a fashion statement. I personally have been looking into the ground effects kit and other mods to add to mine, but always tight on money. I do appreciate all the vettes who have maintained a stock look. If I'm going to drive the car, I want it made to my needs and wants. I want something that will turn heads more than a stock vette, keep up or beat a new corvette, and something that I can be satisfied in doing and converting, not buying. I'd rather put some money into a old car and learn in the process than buy some new car and be like every other kid on the road. You may call us younger people ricers, but many of you were the same way as kids, wanting to mod your car to the new style(add four barrel carbs, headers, duel exhaust, larger gears At least this is what my dad and many other dads I know did when they were kids) but were called other names instead of ricer (ricer is a name given to imports because of coming from asia and asian people eat rice). I still don't believe in imports and have my reasons for not liking them. Just like I don't like most mustang drivers(I think the mustang is a good car, its the drivers that can be stupid most of the time).
My question for you Ebbsvette is:
If you went all out, why did you go for a stock crate engine and nos? I could have gotten a 500hp stroker or mild BB for the money most crate engines cost(unless you got a deal on it). I also have to pass emissions and make 500 other upgrades with the money I don't have, so I went kinda mild on an engine.
PS, If you think less of Ebbsvette for not doing his own work then I can only imagine that you must hate all the kids that will inherit all the nice vintage corvettes and other muscle cars that have been restored and preserved by older generations. Some rich guy somewhere probably has a garage full of exotic cars that his children will probably get some day. I bet if most of us had lots of money to spend, we would use it to fix up our vettes like mad, when really most of us spend years and years just getting it to run(My project had a plan and schedule, but everytime I do something, I find out something new and then I have to postpone the next thing( I think the new deadline for getting a majority of it done is about 4 years now, unless I inherit some money or win the lotto)
well....the engine was my dads idea...he wanted a factory engine from chevy....and he didnt want me to get a huge engine....i took what i got...added afew things like headers and nos.....sure...if it wasnt my daily driver i would tear it down with my friends....and when i get my next car i will tear it down....but until then...i hafta drive it and working on it constantly doesnt allow this.....it sits in the shop enough for normal maintenance.....and thanks, im proud chevy owner...not here to insult or break down other chevy owners
That makes sense. Mines out of commission all the time. I havent been able to drive it for about a month and a half now. So I can't wait to get it back in a week or so and drive it. Being that this car will probably be my daily driver for a while, I kept with a mild small block. Though about nos, but then turned my head and said nope. I want to someday build my engine to 450-500 naturally aspired SBC that is still reliable to use everyday and get good gas mileage(This is reason for small block).
Someday I dream to own some huge BB(ZZ572 looks nice) and make the car one bad azz drag car that almost never sees the street. When this will happen, I will never know  But until then I will always enjoy my vette, no matter how weak it may be to some new fancy car(like the new 12 sec sport/luxery sedan)
