I have a B&M 144cu.in. blower that Holly now offers since they bought the rights. I like it but it may not be a big as you wanted. I kept my AC and power steering. Have fun! :steering:

I highly recommend Vortech centrifugal blowers. If you have a healthy motor from the get-go, then all the instant torque in the world will just go up in tire-smoke. And if you cam it right, a centrifugal makes plenty of bottom end.

I ran one for a decade on my 5.0 Mustang. 615rwhp from a 331" smallblock. And it wasn't just top-end power. Made over 400rwtq @ 2700rpm, and peaked at 4900rpm (594rwtq). We're talking a legitimate 675+hp motor here (flywheel rating).

They are also much more efficient than most roots/positive displacement blowers out there, yielding low air charge temps, which in turn means less octane required to run it...and more power, too. :)

If I could fit one under ANY hood on my BB, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I agree with you Neo Fender. Nothing beats the look of a big blower on a motor.
This is my 8-71 with twin 850 double pumpers on my bigblock. :)

Jim,

How much was that supercharger? That would be a great upgrade. I love Norval's blower, but that one is too radical for me. I get enough cop attention as it is.

By the way, Ebbsvette, I didn't know they made 1979 Stingrays???

Andrew,

Summit lists the 144 for the SBC at $1699.

Anyone have a clue as to whether the 174 blower listed for the BBC will fit under an L88 hood?

How hard is it to tune these blow-through carb apps?

<--- EFI hot-rodder just learning carbs. ;)

The 550 HP monster vette in the description and the post in the thread mentioned above that stated 400 hp does not add up. If you are going to lie, at least make your numbers match. 400 hp with 200 shot is not 550 hp.

Also, the T350 and T400 are not the same!! :lolg:

Ok, I read the other posts and I don't get it. He bragged about beating a Supra. Whether he did or not, who cares? Is he a troll because he doesn't know what tranny he has? Heck, he even admited that he didn't do the work on his car, but paid someone else. A troll would know-it-all.

C'mon, this is a new CF member and I don't see a need to sabatage his posts.

thanks man. I admit i do not know much about vettes. Personally i expected people to talk about beating ricers. not try to tear apart a vette owner. heh. but hey, i guess not everyone races, i bought a vette cause i like vettes and i race people who talk down to my vette. so, bragging, heh i do...cause im proud. not many 18 year olds hold vettes (especially old ones) in the respect i do.. so back off

on a serious note now...if you make 600hp on NOS, why do you want to ditch the nos and spend your dads cash on a supercharger to make the same power?
