can anyone help me with the info. on setting my timing on my 350
i was told to set the base timing at 10deg. then rev up to 3000
set the the timing at 28deg total of 38deg.
now my ? if do i set the light at 10 deg bring the line down to 0or what ??
or do i set the light at 28deg leave it there and set the 10 btdc then rev to 3000 and set at 0???? help my vette need to get back on the road :confused: :confused:

Set your total timing with vac disconnected to 36 and disregard the initial - it's meaningless (unless it's way off and causing you problems). Set your adjustable light to 36 and line up the balancer line with "0" on the tab at elevated rpm (centrifugal advance pegged out). Details oulined in my paper referenced in the previous post.
I recommend you pay the bucks for a dyno-tune - they'll adjust the timing and measure performance - so you'll know exactly what your motor wants. Dyno tuning got me a good HP boost.
