Re: Bilstein Group Purchase? (79VetteMike)
The best price I have found is Ecklers at four for $250.00. I also have a gift coupon for $50 that I was given by a very nice forum member for a little assistance in an information avenue I just happened to have access to. That only leaves me $200 to get a set.
I asked Dan (VanSteel) about a price the other day and he told me that Bilstein had a set price for their shocks and that there had been a price increase. So if you can come up with a price of less than $250 let me know I will sign up and help make it work. I can always buy something else with that certificate.
Dan - If the proce is right, I am interested also.

Re: Bilstein Group Purchase? (mvftw)
I sent an e-mail to Mike at Ecklers tonight and asked him aboout a better deal on a group purchase for the Bilsteins for all of the Corvettes here at Corvetteforum.com
Mike, I’m Jim O’Neal aka PROSOUTH from Corvetteforum.com and we are looking for a group purchase from one of the sites sponsors on a set of Bilstein shocks for Corvettes. There has been no one to step up and answer the call from repeated request of a group purchase.
We have had several group purchases to date and with a very good rate of success. Hydratech for instance had a group purchase for the Hydraboost brake system and instead of the 20 required sales he sold about 30 sets of Boosters during the event. This was fairly limited to the C-3 crowd however.
We have had several request from all of the sections for a group purchase on the Bilstein shocks and in case Ecklers has not been monitoring the board I thought that I would drop a hint your way and ask for a good price on a set of four shocks applicable to C-1 through C-5 Corvettes. With the many members we have it would be a good promotion for Ecklers to get acquainted with the Corvette forum crew.
I looked at the last sale catalog I received and they were listed at $250 for a set of four on the C-3 .What about a deal? Thanks Jim O’Neal
Sorry guys i must have missed this thread before. I really can't do anything on the Bilsteins. They leave very little room for profit. Prosouth had a good idea with asking Ecklers. I think they could get you guys the best price or Mid-America. Sometimes it's hard getting these big corps to budge on stuff like this. Let me do a little fishing around and see what i can do. Maybe i may be able to work something out. How many people do you think are interested?
I found that the absolute best price i can do is $230. So if your interested let me know.
Dan
I have heard of Bilstein but don't know much about them. I was planning on doing new shocks this Summer anyway so I may be interested if you can give me more info on what is included in the $230 price and why are Bilsteins better than other brands. Just an uninformed vette enthusiast.
Bilsteins are by far the best shock to have. Internally the have these digressive valves in them that self-adjust to road conditions. You won't bounce all around. If you are looking for a great ride than Bilstein's will be what you want. It's kind of like comparing a vette to a mustang. It's whats inside that is much better. I believe they are well worth it. Ask other forum members about them and they will tell you they love them.
