Default Adj pivot stud ?'s

Who has welded and where, and who has used locktite and has it held up? Welding sounds bad in the long run, not a welding expert so might be wrong, cuz if the stud wears down you gotta get it out some how. All input appreciated.

Good observation Fevre, I had considered this myself as I will be installing my 5 speed that requires an elevated stud. I decided to use.......what else Stud Locker. Loctite Stud Locker definately will hold and can be removed after applying XXXX degrees of heat.

The weld is probably as permanant as you can get depending on how much is applied. A tack can be ground off but leaves a mess. Here is where overkill will make it forever. JIM

Your not going to weld the stud into the bellhousing. You just weld the threaded nut to the stud so that the adjustable part is no longer adjustable. You can still remove the whole stud.

:iagree:

The stud is from steel, the bellhousing is aluminum. No way to weld those together.

I looked at the stud kit last night and now see what you guys are talking about. Looks like once you get your geometry right you can tack weld the stud portion to the base going in from the tranny side of the bellhousing. For some reason I thought the kit was a stud and a nut, as I am sometimes refered as. :jester
