I got the MSD 6AL, and mounted behind the passenger side dash compartment right beside the guage cluster..it works fine other than when i stomp the gas, the Door agar light flashes, then goes off as i let off the accelerator...whats up with that and any other advice on mounting spots??

I never heard of electric interference like that man. Best idea I've seen was MSD box mounted between wiper motors. Cool (temperature) location still covered by hood from rain. Though I'd saved that thread as a note but could not locate it - sorry. Maybe a search?
My guess something is wrong with your door switch or maybe lamp is grounding out. :seeya
Re: MSD 6AL users..where do you mount? (REDSHARKONBOYDS)
I have no heater in my car so I blocked off the hole in the firewall and mounted 4 MSD units, the coil and a ford starter solenoid, and a whole bank of relays where the old heater was. By removing the dash section which is easy all my electronics are right there. They stay cool not being in the engine compartment, also stay clean and easy to get at.
I have had no problems and they have been there for years.
Like some of the others, I put my box on the inside of the passenger wheel well. I drew power and ground from the starter. That's the next best thing to a direct battery connection and that's what MSD recommends. Besides, it's conveniently located and why run a whole bunch more wire than you have to?
[EDIT] I see now you weren't asking where to put and how to wire YOUR MSD. But this is what I did with mine FWIW.

I have mine in the wiper valley/rain gutter or whatever it's called
Nice and cool out there and the rev limiter chip is siliconed in, just have to change it as a friend with good eyesight pointed out it is set at 8000RPM not 6000RPM I thought it was set at
