Glad someone finally mentioned this: differential side yokes with their tips worn down within the rear end, mine did, thought it was spring, strut rod, nope, it was the yokes.
here we go - I haven't finished the site yet, but at least you can see the pictures I took & maybe get a better idea of what could be wrong - if you need me to take any more shots, let me know & I'll add them to the site http://members.lycos.co.uk/burtie196...escphotos.html
Hard for me to tell what's wrong after looking at your pictures. I have certainly seen leaf springs in a lot worse condition. See my previous post for recommendations (I don't believe the spring is the problem).
thanks for having a look Steve - I think I'll get my mechanic chap to check out the struts before I start ordering a new spring, etc, as thats what the consensus seems to be, & then go from there - I'll try & get a few more digipics posted to try & help you guys help me
You want to make sure everything is in good condition & then an alaignment could do it. While I rec. the VB composite rear spring, another option esp. for overseas guys is to have the spring rearched. There are speciality shops that do this.
After looking at that, it appears that your spring does have some arch left. Other than the surface rust, it probably doesn't need replacing right away. However, you definately have a camber problem. I would look into:
1) Your strut rods adjustment
2) Strut rods (bent or bad bushings?)
3) Side yolks problems
4) Trailing arm problems
These are in order of probability weighted by $$$$$
