I have a bit of a dilema and I hope you guys could offer some advise. My 1980 is currently at the body shop and I can not decide what color to paint it. The factory color is yellow and I was thinking of repainting it the prowler/viper yellow but now today a couple of people were saying how SWEET she would look black. The interior is black. So here I am wondering yellow or black????? UGH!!!!
Any thoughts?
I'm with DesertDawg...I'm probably no help. I've seen some awesome yellow vettes but black is just plain bad azz. If you're concerned about finding a more original color you could always go Elkhart Green! :lolg: Just kidding, I like it but it's not for everyone.
YELLOW----------Black is great, but requires a lot of tender loving care, as it shows everything. If you body work is anything less than perfect, Black will expose that too. Yellow will also be a little cooler in the summer months.
personally i dont like black on vettes. My first choice is red, but if its a decision between yellow and black?, definitely go with yellow. Try some black accenting, like black hood scoop or black coming out of the fender scoops. Good luck.

Very tough question however my opinion is black looks the best but would paint it yellow.
I have a black Z28 and love the color only hate the maintenace of it. I wash it and then put it in the garage and the next morning it looks dirty to me with the dust on it. :mad
For me the only way black looks clean is the day you wash it, the next day it looks dirty.
I have owned a black car in the past and agree with what the others have to say concerning black paint jobs. That being said, if the body is perfect - paint it black. Also, plan on washing it constantly. Otherwise......
