I've been pondering the same question for the past year. I'm now convinced that I'm going to go with Yellow. For a long time, I was convinced I was going to paint it black, especially since it's my daily driver and I don't necessarily want the extra attention a yellow car gets. But, since I've decided to at least do all of the prep and black is the worse for showing defects.

You guys have been GREAT!!!! Thanks for all the comments!!!! The picture Paul has posted looks like my car before all the sanding and she does look SWEET. The body work on the car is perfect but still makes me wonder what will show with black. I have all the windows tinted limo black, also putting on some ZR1 rims and have the air cleaner coming out of the hood with chrome. I think black would look Great with all the chrome and tinted black window BUT boy would I boil in it!!! Then the Yellow is sharp with all the chrome accents and black tinted windows. PLUS it does seem everyone has a black Vette running around!!!
So I think YELLOW will be it :smash:

Well, it looks like you've already decided, but FWIW, :iagree: with GREGG-73's reasoning.
Also, IMHO, many cars look great in black (including the Corvette); few cars look great in yellow, but the Corvette is definitely one of them :yesnod:

Do a really bright yellow with some bright yellow pearl. nothing makes a car look as good as pearl. i love the C5 yellow too ;)

I'd say keep her the original yellow. I would love a yellow Vette, especially if it came from factory that way. When I repaint mine, I'll keep her black ,though, but it was a TOUGH call for me. Since mine was original black, I'll keep her as she came. Though I just may paint her yellow when the day comes. No other colors I am considering. I feel your pain, but its a good pain. :)

I tossed around black when I got ready to paint mine. Decided on '77 Corvette Bright yellow. It was originally sunflower but the bright yellow really pops :cool:

Corvette Yellow. I saw the color on another car at the shop where I brought my parts for painting and changed my plans on the spot. I think it is much sportier (no pun intended) than Black.

MrKln did his C5 in a Lamborghini color, Pearl Metallic Orange. I cannot find the pic right now but they had a GORGEOUS Pearl Metallic YELLOW as well!! Think Murcielago (sp?) and that gorgeous yellow, that is the ticket!!

Are you not worried about originality. The value will be affected by a color change. My car was originally red but since it was no longer original anyway, so I shot it Diamond Metallic Black Imron. Keep looking at pictures of each and I'm sure you'll make the right decision.
