Hello corvette friends may be some one help with a problem as to prevent engine bay decals from wrinkling up after been installed I have only had success with the air- cleaner decal and I would to know is there any way to apply the new decals. thank-you .
First off, You need to clean every trace of grease and grim off of the surface your going to stick it too. I would also think it needs to be cool to the touch. The only reason I can think of for them not sticking good is that it might not be clean enough.
Thanks for the tips I have not any problems applying to surface but more of a problem after a while and with the high eng. heat then the decal starts to get wrinkles through it? THANK-YOU. :auto: :auto:
Cheap plastic (not heat resistant) used to print engine decals.
Yeah, I wonder if you could get a high temp (or perhaps even normal temp) clear coat and spray over them, masking a somewhat larger area than the decal itself so that the paint holds it all in place... Maybe something to try anyhow...

Re: Engine bay decals (Rob vette)
Seems to me that the decals on the air filter are paper and the others are plastic. This could be the reason for the wrinkling. I don't know, just a guess.
