If I use black duct tape on my black snorkel duct hoses, (only on the ends)is that a Bubba repair? I tried buying a new one and that only lasted for 6 months! The openings on the end were never really big enough and had to be strechted so much that they frayed and the wires started showing.
Duct tape IS for ducts....I bought a matching color..........does this one make me a Bubba? Replacing it will only last 6 months! :smash:
Well, the "general" idea of a Buffa Fix is :If you need to "Bubba fixit" `till you get home or get the right parts ,its
But if you drive around with it over year, then you´re in trouble :lolg:
But,I could be wrong
matching color would be a bubba "lite". A true "bubba" fix would use the standard grey duct tape.
That's a new one... a bubba "lite".
I'd say if the fix is not noticable to the general public and it doesn't fall off, spew stuff on the road or cause you to break down it is an acceptable bubba.

:iagree: But it's still bubba. Duct tape on a car is always bubba.

you need to crimp closed the openings of the snorkels. Take a pair of pliers and bend the opening to be a little more friendly to your ducts. I have had the same ones on my car for 3 years, and they are just now starting to tear in the middle.
To make it truly Bubba, you also have to make sure "the fix" is impossible to remove......in your case adding Super Glue to the tape for extra holding power......just a tip from your local Bubba Dealer...... :)
Don't forget to wrap the "Special Deluxe Super Heavy Duty Acme Bubbifed Bailing Wire" around the ducts to hold them to the ends of the plastic houseings. Miss this step..and you risk your Total Bubbafication initiation into the Bubba Fix It Hall of Fame! :hurray: :hurray:
Those ducts are still available from GM. The "real thing" will last much longer than aftermarket. I have the part numbers if you need them.
Yes please Paul! :yesnod: The front one was missing when I bought the car and that is the one I've replaced and subsequently repaired, Bubba style. I think the one on the side is original as the clamps are different than the aftermarket one I got.
