The local tire parts store has an electric impact wrench on sale this week. I am wondering if they are any good. I do not want to invest in a compressor at this time.
Re: Any one Using Electric Impact Wrench (vette_net)
actually, i have one and it's pretty handy when i have to yank tires off the car........but i wouldn't spend a lot of money on one
also, they don't have the tourque that air wrenches have, so make sure you have a breaker bar for tightening stuff after
Re: Any one Using Electric Impact Wrench (Glutamine83)
I just bought one for my son , it works just fine for general car work . We also use it for our cycles and four wheelers when we go to our mountain place it's just a real handy tool .
Re: Any one Using Electric Impact Wrench (vette_net)
I use air tools when doing anything more than a 5 minute job. Every once in a while I'll run into something that the air impact wrench can't get. It's then that I turn to my Dewalt Electric impact wrench.
Ok, so I'm comparing a cheap air wrench running off a small compressor with a $300 electric wrench, but the point is an electric impact wrench CAN be as good or better than an air one.

The salvage where I get truck parts uses the smaller ones out in the yard to take parts off. I am pretty impressed with the ones they have, I am thinking about investing in one for when I am working away from the shop.
Re: Any one Using Electric Impact Wrench (vette_net)
I have used as Sears Craftman electric impact wrench for about 20 years. Never had a problem with removing or installing lugs. Only got home use so I cant tell how it wdould hold up under commerical condititions. I use to take it to NCRS Flight Judging event to change my driving tires with the original tires for max points. Just needed to to find power to make it work. Glad thats over with. :banghead:
