i just recieved my eagle forged crank for my small block 400. when i ordered it the guy on the phone wasnt sure if it is internally or externally balanced and he says there is only one kind of crank available for that engine. i matched it up to my old crank and it looks almosty identical to my old crank so is there any difference between the two. and can i use one in place of the other i am so confused someone please help
thanks in advance
I just bought a Eagle 3.75 forged crank and it has 350 mains and is int balanced. All the forged Eagle cranks listed in Summit's catalog are int balanced including the ones with 400 mains.
I would venture to say an internally balanced crank would be WAY more expensive than a standard externally balanced crank due to the heavy metal slugs. Can't justify the expense IMO.
