Default Help with 80 vette

Ok i got a 80 vette in trade looks all stock but for a performer intake. When i drive some times takes 30 mins some time when i first pull out it acts like it running out of gas but its not. if you get over 1/2 throttle it boggs out and falls on it faces.. Now another problem went to get it inspected and the CO levels were 3.2 at idle and 3.5 running when it should be 1.2. While tracing the cluster fu%$ of vac. hoses i noticed the jet screws on the front where almost all the way out and losse so i tightened them all the way up then 2 full turns back out still runs bad What should i look for next? where can i get a diagram of all the vac. hoses?the one on the hood suxs

Good luck dude, and welcome to Corvette ownership. What kind of carb is on there now? Can you hear vacuum leaks anywhere? There are alot of things that can cause what you are describing. Start with the basics. First, check your timing and make sure it isn't bouncing around. Make sure you have a good ignition system-wires, plugs, etc....Just keep going until you figure it out.

Eliminate your vacuum problems first. I would pressure them up and fix leaks. But don't be surprized if the carb is due for a rebuild.
