Not a single vote for the 82? Just an outsider's comment...

While we're on that thought, how do you tell the difference between a 70, 71 and 72?... I'm ignorant...
70 and 71 were hard to distinguish..both years had clear front parking lamps..while in 72, the parking lamps were amber.

Re: C3 CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!
I said 1969. Big surprise huh? I like the '69 because of everything it has going for it.
350 small block / 427 big block
t-tops w/ removable rear window (like a convertible w/o the insurance costs)
chrome bumpers
stingray script
"shark" gills
smaller steering wheel than '68
Just read your local Corvette Black Book :chevy

Re: C# CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!! (l2vette)
The flared wheel wheels and the total refinement that occured make the 72 the best Choice!!

Re: C# CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!! (GDaina)
I agree. I also really like the clean looks of the small block '68 too though. If only it had the grunt of a big block.
I like the '68 because of all the unique features it has. It also is the only C3 with 4 real tail lights.

How can it be ANY year BUT 1969???? When you make something as spectacular as the ZL-1...everything else pales in comparison :D
Dep...merrily yanking and tearing apart his '72 to turn it into a ZL-1 clone :)

I think it's the 67 BB. They are already bringing in the high dollars. 100K plus for NCRS car.

Love my 69. If I could change anything on it I would flare the fender bottoms ala 70-72. Otherwise I think its the sexiest body style of all.

73 is still the only 1 of a kind year
:iagree:
There are differences (some major others minor) in all model years, but you have to admit that from a distance the 73 is the only C3 that will not be confused with any other year. In that way its very similar to the 58.
I would make it my second choice (all chrome bumber cars being my first, with the 69 first among equals).

70 and early 71 had clear parking light lenses, late 71 and 72 had amber.
72 did not have the fiber optic monitoring system. Also (I think) the HP/ TQ ratings were not listed on the center consol plate, oly displacement and compression ration.

Re: C# CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!! (6t9l4t6)
Nobody has mentioned that 69 was the ONLY year that FACTORY sidepipes were offered on the C3! Everyone elses are either dealer installed or do-it-yourself with used or parts-counter pieces. Although 68 and 69 had the vertical shark gills, only 69 had the stainless inserts in them.

Everyone knows the best year is the '71. Why? That was the year they started using better glue.
I'm a proud owner of an early production "glue" car.
