I am new to this forum. I have a 76 corvette that I just bought about 6 months ago with close ratio manual transmission numbers matching car. I upgraded the cam, lifters, and rockers when I rebuilt the engine due to a broken valve spring.
My real question has to do with getting ventilation into the passenger compartment. When I turn the fan on hi I barely get any air movement. If I go under the hood with the fan on high there is a huge amount of air coming out of one spot on the heater core box. If I have this redone will that help my problem? Is there something else I should try first? Some please help.
Does it have A/C? the boxes are different between them. Do you have an AIM manual,it will show you the vacuum lines and positions. Possibly a door isn't open or if the car has been sitting for a while you might have an old critters nest in the box! When properly setup they move air in the car. You're going to have to investigate it further to see what's up with it.
Good Luck
Gary
Sounds like one of the air distribution doors is stuck shut and that the heater box needs to be resealed. You might try seeing if you can operate any of the levers on the outside of the box manually to see if you can unstick them. If they all work ok then start looking for a vacuum leak or bad actuator.
unless it is like mine was - mice had moved all of the insulation from the firewall inside the car to the heater box by cutting off several blades off of the fan. Great!
There are some pictures here of mine, you may have the same problem I did www.angelfire.com/al/swhite7/interior.html
