Hi,
If the engine wasn't so strong and the paint wasn't so terrific….. where did the $260,000 go?
Regards,
Alan

I'll put it this way...the shop apparently was capable of doing very nice stuff, he was around the car a few times at the time and said it was awful shiny and slick. But there was some hacking on body he noticed underneath.

I knew quite a bit about this car prior to it being sold. All the work on the body, chassis, and drivetrain (minus the motor) of the car was done by friends of mine. I watched as the car was being built. The bodywork and paint were absolutely flawless. Steve spent an absolute fortune on having all the work done. The engine was done by a shop that Steve selected - unfortunately they didn't have any experience in electronic fuel injection. The inability to get the fuel injection dialed in for the Whipple supercharger is what doomed this project.
I had the car on my DynoJet for about a week with really poor results. Steve wanted me and a friend of mine to get the fuel injection dialed in but neither of us had the time to devote to it that it would have required.
It is really too bad because underneath it all Steve was a really nice guy that simply got in over his head.

Thats too bad..expensive dream crushed
I could see well over 200k...spent well over 90 on my frame off and its nothing special, did all except paint seats healinder too.
Adds up quick!
Id like to see NRE get ahold of it bet it would be tuned to perfection

well to call it like it was.....more money than brains can be disaster but to each their own how they spend or blow their money. It was interesting read over the course of the build.

At 141 miles something is seriously wrong. Even if someone could get it running half decent aren't they going to at least drive it around for while and run up a few thousand miles in the 10+ years that thing has been around.
I have always liked the looks of that Vette and I would really like to know what exactly is wrong with it. Who is going to buy it with over 10 years and 141 miles ? Red flags are all over the place. Someone could have removed the engine and sold it for parts and put a high HP big block in there with a high rise hood and be good but I assume it won't be worth as much as with that S/C engine.
I am and always was confused about the car. Seen a short video clip of it running around someone's driveway years ago, I'm thinking it gets too hot and the engine overheats easily or the engine was not designed correctly for the application. No one is going to buy it at a premium price if it's not running correctly

Somewhere I read something about Kamis and he got into a very serious car accident that was near life threatening. He did survive. Seems like I remember a/his Hummer was involved. On East coast, maybe Florida area? He was in Northwest when Merlin "created". Think he had upwards of $250K invested. Last sale around $70K, I think.
