Do you have a JCW part number or link for those pipes? I've been looking for those, but couldn't find them on their website...

Go to their website, http://www.jcwhitney.com , and search their site for "headers"...It returns five pages and they're on the last page.

Hi
I'm running the HOOKERs, no real cutting was required.
Very slight trimming at one side where the pipes pass under the fender, but would be easy to reglass.
The side pipe attachments pass underneath, no cutting.
Don't know about the JCW's.
I wonder if lowering the engine mounts a touch could be done to clear the pipes a bit more ?

OK, so the JCW are not fake, they actually fume out of the sidepipes. That's what counts.

Good luck. Gunther

:seeya

heres the link... http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...&storeId=10101

heres the part number...21ZX3927W

its the 3-1/2 inch X 2 inch X 63 inch

Chuck...as far as the triming goes...i know...
i hated cutting that trim piece too...
i dont know how to describe exactly how to go about cutting that piece other than to say "very carefully"...
i just held it up there...marked it...measured how far down and reluctantly started cutting...
i used a dremel with a cutting wheel and got really lucky and got it right the first time...
then i filed the edge that i cut to smooth it out...
mine were semi flat black so i dusted them with a freah coat before reinstalling them...
good luck!
and remember...its better to cut too little off instead of too much cause you can always take more off but you cant put it back! :D

[QUOTE]

actually on my pipes its the "tab" to the right that had to be cut off...
how much? well...you can install your pipes and then cut it off...
they DO fit without cutting but the pipe will be up against it enough so that it does need to be trimed a little...

the main thing that has to be trimed, unfortunatly, is the "rocker panel" trim piece as it is impossible to put back on with the pipes in place...
tomorrow i will have my car up on jack stands again and i will take some pics of the mounting and hook up...

here is a pic i took yesterday...im sorry for the quality...i dont know whats up with my camera... :mad
ill get it figured out and take some more pix tho...

also...thanx again for the possitive comments and compliments... :)

I have always wanted to put side pipes on my '75 vert but never did anything because of the issue of the catalytic converter, or more specifically the lack of one. Is there somthing I'm missing?

Default new side pipes! (SIGNGUY)

Two questions for you Hooker side pipe guys.

1) Where did you get your pipes?

2) Is 1 7/8" diam. primarys the only ones available from Hooker?

I have been going back and forth on whether or not to get side pipes, but after seeing so many pics on this forum, well got to have em! I will be gettingh the black pipes so I can weld in a 02 bung, then have them coated.

My car is at a shop having a hood made and some minor body work done. Then the side pipes, 5-speed and hopefully get it painted before spring!

Thanks, Eric.

very nice indeed!
I think I'll add this to my list of "upgrades"...though I have a pretty long timeline for this type of thing.
Still, very nice.

I had the chrome hooker side pipes on for about 10 years, loved them. Finally got a hole in one of the side pipes so I took them off and put a stainless system on. I still have the hooker headers and both mufflers in my attic if anybody is interested in them. Might be able to powder coat them and buy new side pipes.
