Valve Timing Question
I found stock specs on the valve timing of my engine. They are:
Inlet Opens - BTC ...... 28 degrees
Inlet Closes - ABC ..... 72 degrees
Duration .................... 280 degrees
These are listed in Crankshaft degrees.
Anybody know if I can somehow calculate the cam duration @ .050"?

The @.050 duration is a function of the ramp of the cam and will not be the same from one mfg. to another. Weather it is a roller cam or a flat tappet cam will also change the @.050 numbers. You can get close to your numbers by shopping with both a Jeg's and a Summit catalog. Find your duration on a cam in the Jeg's catalog and then look the same cam up in the Summit catalog.

Due to different ramp rates, you can't calculate duration at .050 based on advertised duration - you have to measure it.
