i have a noise coming from the back of my car it is hard to tell exactly where from though but i think the right side
what would a bearing sound like
what would a u joint sound like
what else could it be
it is kind of a rough pulseing sound
it does not make the sound in reverse
i had a slight squeal right before my rear bearing went out. thinking it was not a big deal i drove til it broke. middle of nowhere it went out stranding me 500 miles from home. it is going to cost about $1000 for it to be replaced at last estimate from the repair shop where it broke down at (hopefully i will get it back this weekend).
Could be the e-brake shoes dragging .... optimistically.
Take a look around the ujoints ... when really bad they start puking out red rusty dust.
Jack it up and wiggle the wheel 3-9 Oclock then 12-6 Oclock and try to feel
any looseness in the bearing assembly. Spin the wheel by hand - and try to
hear where it's coming from. Don't put it in gear while up in the air ... you
could really muck up the rear if the half shafts bind up.
well it is the bearings for sure. i just tore it down to wear i could turn by hand and have nothing but the bearings and it is rough
i was realy hopping it was the ebrake or u-joints but ohwell
