Re: Checkered Garage Floor.. (GrandSportC3)
Looks Great GrandsportC3!
How did you mask off for the different colors?
Did you use epoxy?
I did mine 2' x 2' squares, and masked off by hand which took me about 2 weeks of crawling around the floor. Go to
www.bigdogvettes.com to see the steps I took.

Yes - I used Epoxy.. That's the only paint to use on a garage floor!! :yesnod: :yesnod:
I also added 2 coats of clearcoat so that it'll last longer...

Looks awesome, good job! My 72 is similar to yours, Bryar Blue with white stripes and I am thinking about doing the floor in blue and white squares to match the car and go with red base molding to give it a patriotic look. Wife says it will clash with her black Vette but I think I will do it when she is away. :D Anyway, great job, your shark is beautiful.

I spent almost $300 from Sherwin Williams.
You said you used a clear coat to protect your floor...what a great idea! Where can you get clear coat for floors?
I wish I did that to mine

Re: Checkered Garage Floor.. (matchframe)
Well - I first painted white..
Then I used a piece of tile (1 sq/ft) and taped off square by square. I always finished taping off one row and then painted the black squares. Then I removed the tape and when the black squares dries - I taped off the next row..
