OK, as some as you know i have totaled my 76, engine, trans and complete front end are a loss. I found a 78 that has a perfect body, suspension and frame. now this 78 has no front window, backglass or ANY interior, and the wiring harness and the fusebox. This car had an interior fire and everything on the inside of the firewall got toasted.
Now i know that the interiors are completly different, but would the interior from my 76 work in the 78, the guages, wiring harness, shifter, steering colum, along with the complete transfer of all my other interior parts, dash, console, ect?
It will be interesting to see what you find. I can't remember on the dash itself, but what I do know: Seats will work, steering column will work although 68-76 is longer. Hole in the firewall for the wiring harness is the same, could probably move wires around in the engine and forward lamp harnesses to adapt to the 76 dash harness. Carpet is different. Shifters are the same. Since they are both metal floor cars I believe the consoles will interchange. Door panels are different with inside handle and lock very different. Lot of work, but doable.
