Hi all- Today I finally got the engine and trans in the car-after 4 months of detailing and new suspension, etc. Anyway, I put the hydroboost on several weeks ago(excluding the lines). Today as I'm looking through my hardware, I find the little push-rod that typically goes from the master cylinder to the brake booster. Was I suppose to put that push-rod on the hydroboost unit? I forgot what it looked like between the booster and master cylinder, and I don't want to screw up. I did an initial brake bleed a week or two ago and it didn't seem like the fluid was flowing the way it should. I have rebuilt o-ring calipers and all SS lines-hard and flexible. Finally, my buddy was hooking up the hydroboost lines to the power steering while I was working on the BTO trans hook-up. Anyway, the lines are moving with the slave cylinder. It seems excessive. Is this normal? Thanks in advance....Mike
I bought my Hrydo-Boost with a new master cylinder and it came assembled. If you even think that a part is missing in there I would recommend that you take it apart and verify that all of the parts are in place before driving the car. There are 2 differant length rods used on the master cylinder depending on the master cylinder used and the year of the car. Could you have been sent 2 so that you could install the correct one?
The steel braided lines are stiffer than the rubber lines that they replace but I had no trouble aligning mine so that they didn't drag on anything.
I had the correct rod come with the kit caused I called and talked to them first. The new lines are stifferbut so long as they clear everything you will be ok.
