I like your plan! Saving the LT1 and building up the short block L88. That is basically what I've done. The 427 BB is a fantastic engine. There are a few guys making more power than my 427 but they're far enough away I don't have to worry about them!:lol: I just do it at a higher rpm, which is what I love. The L88 type motors have that LT1 personality only even more punch in the back of the seat.
The LT1 was my favorite motor before going to the BB. It is still a close second with times where I kinda wish I still had it in the car. But those moments are fleeting!
