Default March Performance Pulleys

I'm thinking about converting my 82 to a serpentine system with the March Performance Serpentine kit. The SBC kit is $209. Any opinions on price vs quality on these kits? Other manufacturers?

Thanks-
J

I was going to go this route but after talking to several Hor Rodders I decided against it. The pulleys are 30% underdiven meaning your water pump will be turning 30% slower and may have cooling issues. I do know they now offer a kit (more $$$) that corrects this problem. It may not be an issue for a SB, but I didn't want to take the chance w/ my BB.

hmm, I will ask them about that. maybe going with a smaller water pump pulley will get rid of that problem. Not sure if it's possible on the BB setup.

I have the March small block set up on my 69.

I am currently running a FastBurn 385 (385 hp) and a BeCool radiator and dual electric fans. I drive the **** out of it, I am constantly over reving the motor and I have never had any cooling issues.

Eric.

Corey,

Are the non serpentines 30% underdriven? That's what I have. I'm really happy with the quality of these pulleys and brackets.

I'm staring at a box of March performance pulleys right now. It states that it lowers belt speed and increases cooling. Now if mine would only line up...

Steve, I'm not sure to be totaaly honest. When I talked with March they stated I may have cooling issues w/ the underdriven Serpentine setup and to go with the other kit they offer that helps w/ cooling. The kit they suggested increased the water flow of the pump and engine fan.--> http://www.marchperf.com/pg22.html
