Anyone used one of these? I have lots of experince with the 4di throttle body, but some guy near me is selling a MPFI for chevy big block and I was thinking about doing it to my 68. I already know about fuel lines and the wiring harness etc, I was specifiaclly curious about the MPFI and the 950 computer interface compared to the throttle body 4di.
JEEEZZZZ  Great writeup!!! We choose the same spot for the electric fan relays. :yesnod: My heads are rectangle port, I wonder is holley makes a retangle port manifold? You hit a lot of the same issues I hit when I installed the 4di on my 76, but you sure did it alot more professional.
Thanks. :) Yes, Holley makes a rectangle port EFI manifold. You can find the PN on their website. Make sure you get the right size injectors (probably 42lbs, they're good for about 600hp), and the right style pump (they have in-tank and in-line).
I have the system on my small block and I really like it. Tuning with the laptop is great. Overall I think it is a very good product.
Zwede, I haven't forgotten about sending you my maps. It's just that I haven't tweaked them very much because the engine is still out of the car. Once I get a couple thousand miles more on it I'll send them to you.

Re: Holley Commander 950 MPFI (burners)
I am running the C950 with a throttle body system (damn emissions board would not let me switch out intakes and go with a MPFI).
The C950 system is awesome. Saturday I was driving, still getting things mapped. The car started to puke and die, I looked over at the laptop and saw that it was waaaaay too lean. Added fuel with a few keystrokes and pulled back on the road.
I'm about to buy a StealthRam kit for my '75. I'm hoping that it fits, though I need a new hood anyway. Dennis @ Fonse is hooking me up with 50lb injectors and I'm also buying an ATI Procharger P-1SC kit to go with it.
The price difference between the MPFI and StealthRam is negligible and everyone raves about the StealthRam.

600HP here I come!
:)
You stole my idea! :mad :jester
Def document your build since that is exactly what I have in mind. I have a forged 383 crank earmarked for the project but it is going to be a couple of years until I am ready. The supercharger set is the only thing I am unsure of.

My block is a fresh 355 build with a GM 442 crank, 5.7 rods and KB Hyper 9:1 pistons. Comp 280H cam and 487X 76cc heads currently being ported and blended. I'm going with the P-1SC because it's self-contained and should be quieter. It's around $2100 for a base carb kit. I just have to adapt it to the LT-1 style intake.
