Front spring, is this right??
Digging into the front end last night to start my rebuild. Pulled out the stock spring and compared it to the new 550# springs I just bought, and I see that the new spring is 2-3" shorter than stock!
Is this correct???

Yes it is. The coils should be thicker. It should drop the front about 1 inch

Yup. Stiffer springs are shorter.

I don't know, that was about 3 years ago and I didn't measure them. I think PacinCalif might have some dimensions for you.

Finished my rebuild yesterday. I had the same concerns. Not to worry. Mine were the same, old spring 10 coils and the new one 6 coils. They are much easier to install. Piece of cake.
