Default A/C conversion

Hey, A/C doesn't work in my '71 and I'm thinking about converting it over. Has anybody done this and if so did you have to replace the whole system, or was pretty well all of it useable?

There are lots of thing that can srcew up in the system, but if everything is OK then you can replace the drier and change the compressor oil to ester based and charge with R134a. My system is exactly like yours and it works fine with R134a even here in Florida. Some say you can adjust the POA valve for a few extra degrees of cool but I didn't find that necessary.

I agree with Larry I switched to R134 too, and it works well, even in SW Florida.

I just rebuilt my A/C system in my 75 convetible. I replaced the compressor, A/C hose, VIR unit, pressure switch, blower motor, and all of the O-rings.

I changed the O-rings over to the green ones for 134A. My A/C blows 38o at the center vents.

I did not replace the condenser or evaporator.
