The enclosure is only about .25 cubic feet sealed. It is BY FAR the best 8 inch sub I have heard, and I have listened to a lot of them. It sounds better than a lot of 10's I have heard as well. Obviously, you are not going to out hit a couple of nice 10's or twelves with this sub, but I would match sound quality against any of them, and the power is actually pretty nice if you feed it enough watts....plenty of thump for a C3. The best thing is it takes up absolutely none of the rear storage space. The t-tops will still easily fit.
Sorry about the picture size, I am still used to the automatic photo resizing on the old forum...guess I will have to buy some photochop software.
that is exactly what I'm looking for... with the exception that I have a two door vs three door compartment. How hard was it to build the box? Could I use MDF as I did in the rear? I used Fiberglass in the front but had a heck of a time and had to get help.
Ed
It wasn't too hard to build. I made the mould out of cardboard and laminated about 1/4" classfiber to the inside in several steps. The top is cut from MDF and was laminated to the rest of the box with narrow classfiber strips.
If you build the enclosure out of MDF the walls will become thicker but with a 8" element that probably wouldn't be a problem. With my 10" sub classfiber was only option, it just wouldn't have fitted inside a box with walls any thicker than I have now.
I remember someone here in corvetteforum had installed the whole enclosure under the original compartment lid making it completely concealed!! I think that was a pretty cool idea!

CVT4ME Thanks, that helps a lot. I gonna get that wOOx and install it just to see how much it helps. My wife, an audiophile and talented singer says my current 15yo six speaker set-up sounds like a "cell phone". DOH! You've saved me money already, thanks.

You guys are a bad influence on me! I've been toying with getting a sub but didn't want to give up what little space I had. This WooX sub looks ideal, especially with seeing it installed. I'm in the process of trying to find one local. Keep me informed where the cheapest place is to get one!
Got mine off Ebay too for like $125. Pretty much like new in the box. I thik they are out of production now. I also looked at the Infinity Basslink, but decided it was too tall and too deep/thick. I wanted to be able to close the cargo pullout cover and also fit the T-Tops in back.
I mounted the WooX onto an L shaped 3/4 inch plywood bracket with carpet remnants from my full interior kit. The carpeted wood "bracket" rests on the floor and is bolted through the rear fiberglass wall for permanent locating.
This set-up makes it so there is no weight being supported by the rear fiberglass wall.
That was the reason that I didn't get the Basslink. It was just a bit to tall to have the cargo cover close without issue. My set up is relatively close to Brents, except I screwed my bracketing straight into the fiberglass instead of using the piece of wood. All the weight is on the floor with nothing on the back wall. My biggest concern was not to lose real estate for T-top storage as this car is my daily driver. The tops stay with the car at all times so storage is a must. I have to admit, I like the look of the storage bin mounted sub but I think to go that route would require more money once you factor in an amp and the cost of the nice hig end sub. I hate to admit that my storage bin is actually used to store any tools I might need to do some road side maintenance so sticking a sub in there was out of the question.

I have done exactly what Tomi72 did with the Sub. I have a 10" in my jack well. I took a slightly different approach to it. I formed the fibreglass right to the compartment. I put some tape and tinfoil in the compartment and did the first layer in the car. The result is a box that is exactly the same shape.
I didn't put a grill on mine and if you look in the back of the car you can't even see the sub.
Like most other people did here I also mounted 6x9's in the back corners and the amp on the back wall.
BUT..... And you knew that was coming. I want to know some more details on your kick panel speakers. That is next on my list as I currently don't have enough mid range and want to add the extra speakers to get some more in that area.
