If its in the same place as on a 1980, then it is in the storage/jack
compartment. Remove the storage tray and you should see it
mounted to the front of the storage compartment.
Remove the - battery lead before even attempting to get it out or even lookng at it. GM used some kind of fiberglass reinforced tape to hold the metal module to it's black plastic holder. What will happen (and happened to mine) is you will look at it the wrong way, the tape gets pissed off, says I quit. The module falls out, shorts on the jack and no more wipers for you
Oh yea, if someone's is fried and they can't find one for their year, an older or newer one will work but some have different color coded wires and the connector is different. Just desolder the old wires one by one and resolder the correct one in place. Worked like a champ for me

AS I RECALL, it may be under the front console section, near the radio.....I didn't thik they moved it back to the rear compartments untill computers hit in '81...
it's definitely back there in an 81, did you get a good look at the rear wall? it's bolted to it and some of that stuff is hard to spot. Gollow the maze of cheerfylly colored wires and you will find it. It's got the most wires of any of the controllers/relays on the pass. side
All years look the same but the later cars (I tihnk 78 up) have different wire color coding and a different connector. Mine was fryed and I had an older one lying around so I jsut put the other conencotr on it, it wasn't too hard tracing the wires to the proper position if.
The only thing I am finding anywhere near the rear pass compartment is my power antenna relay and what I think is the anti-theft module (rear part of console). I have the delay marking on the wiper **** but guess I have never tested it as the car has not been driven in the rain since I have owned it. I ran the wipers a few times after the car wash but only on high speed. I am starting to wonder if it has been removed and bypassed. I have got most of the dash apart and all of the console so maybe it is time to just start tracing the wires and see where they go.
