Default Recommend a good muffler...

So here it is, true dual exhaust through dual cats in weeks to come. Took a look at the mufflers and they're in pretty sad shape too. So, I'm looking for a replacement, maybe in the <$200/both range, maybe a little more depending on what is recommended. I want it to have a good, deep sound, but it has to be quiet enough so I can order my double-double at In-n-Out without having to shut off the engine I'd like it to bolt in, but minor fabrication isn't a problem, 2.5" inlet, no requirement for outlet. Sidepipes are out because I don't want ankle tattoos, and I don't think my mom would appreciate open pipes/chambered/glasspack.

I've heard some good stuff about Delta 40s and 50s? What do you guys think?

Id go with some good old flowmasters, thats what i have with no cats and they sound great a litle loud for most people but with your cats itll be perfect for what you want.

I always hear how Flowmasters don't flow well. I guess Magnaflow really makes a good piece.

Highly recommend the Borla's for your requirements.
I have a set on now, nice rumble, not loud, and really good flow (straight through design).

These have to be the quietest straight through designs out there. And they fit in the stock location.

Schmucker's spot on with the Magnaflow. Same exact design as the Dynomax Ultraflo mufflers, go either way and you'll be happy. Borlas sound sweet too, but I'm not sure if they'd fall into that pricerange you're looking for.

Funny, I been thinking this topic also....

but I have headers into a 2.5 inch system with H pipe, so have stock '72 mufflers on it now...want something louder, but in a bass rumble not any resonance, that drives me crazy....

any suggestions?? price?? where to get them???
