Doesn't appear to be a scam but it seems a bit inexpensive at a Buy It Now of $15,900, no?
(Of course assuming no major frame issues)

I always think scam when I see it's a "private auction." Why the hell would anyone do a private auction unless they were scamming?
But you're right, it does legit. $16K is not a fantastic price for that car, no more than fair to fairly good, IMHO. It's NOM with checked & chipped paint and may well have issues not mentioned in the ad. The recent rebuild is a definite plus, but it's no great bargain at the buy it now.
I don't think it is that great of a deal at the Buy it now price either. SB car with a NOM 327 some cosmetic issues, worth around $12-13K at best in IMO.
I am not a big fan of private auctions, but I can certainly see how a frequent seller of cars on ebay would get tired of people emailing his bidders telling them what a crappy car they are bidding on or offering to sell them a better car for less.... so that would be a reason for seller to use private auctions.
I don't think the car is a bargain at that price. Nitpic: 69 white is "can-am" not "polar". I dont like aftermarket hood, wheels and guages. 327 NOM is from a 68, if it is a vette engine. Also, is the body flared at the rear? Just not my taste - could be ok for someone else..... at around $12k.
Also, he talks about "knicks" (sic) in the paint..... wonder if those are New York "knicks"......
