can I get review of the rubber vs poly debate? Stock was rubber, right? I am ready to give it a go.... Maybe we can ship around a copy of the video - you only need it once, right?

. . . actually, i watch the video over and over again . . . it covers complete disassembly, so it explains about fifteen different things you'll be doing . . . everytime i crawl under the car, i go watch the relevant portion of the video first, so i know what i'm doing . . .

For Dan or anybody, what's the pros/cons for rubber vs. ploy. I'm in NY so I get all the weather changes and lousy roads (if that matters).

Pro-Rubber will give you a smooth ride. Don't squeak.
Con-They don't last as long as poly.

Pro-Poly will tighten your suspension up. Last very long.
Con-They sqeak if you don't grease them enough before you install them.

What kind of grease should I use? Brand and type?

Thanks, Ed

Dan,

Does the kit include all of the bolts, etc necessary to complete the install? (ex. reattaching the joints once the rivets are removed)

Thanks, Ed

Rubber bushings you can use a chassis grease. Poly bushings use a teflon grease. It will be provided w/the kit. Not sure if you can by it a local autoparts store or not. We get them when we buy the bushings. Yes all the hardware to complete the job is included in the kit ,ie. ball joints

Can a parts list of the sale items be listed on here? I'm interested since I'm doing my cam again & have easier access now. I'd go with the poly's. Mainly thinking about the A-arm bushings for now. Can they be bought thru this sale by themselves?
Thanx,
Bill

I just upgraded my (80) front w/ the poly kit. If you even think for a second that you might need to upgrade...do it! I too had to torch the old bushings out of my control arms, and I HAD to use a heavy duty machine press to press the new poly bushings back in. I no longer chip teeth on a bumpy road.

I think I am one of them. Does a symptom of needing new tie rod ends include a bit of steering wandering while driving straight?. I replaced upper and lower ball joints and it still wanders a bit. I guess i should replace the tie rods huh?

Yes bad tie rod ends will make the car wander.

Give me a call and I'll get you hooked up. I should be able to have it out to you the same day you order.

Shocks and Springs will have to wait (budget) but I figure I can get all the parts in order for a fall / winter project.
