82CE hatch questions
Has anyone found a source for a reasonably priced hatch support rod set? I have got one that is damaged. Does anyone have a used rod that they would sell? I cannot bring myself to pay $180 for a new set. Has anyone been brave enough to replace the hinge rubber where it mounts the glass. Yes ,I know how expensive a new glass is (if you can find one). Thanks

Why yes I have....
The picture shows the part number of the model I found to be the closest fit. Cost about 45 bucks for a pair of them at Checker Auto Parts, but you can probably find them at any local parts store.
You can also see the length difference in the bottom, They work fine, but are pretty strong, and may stretch your hinges some.
Also when my CE was painted the body shop replaced the gasket, they said it wasn't hard to do, just time consuming.

OOOPS!!!!
I thought you meant the window gasket.
If you do try replacing your bolt grommets, Please let me know what you found to fit.
Mine are pretty dry and cracked, and the bolts will have to be drilled out on mine....

***DO NOT BREAK THAT REAR HATCH GLASS***
Last one I heard of found was from a northern junk yard about 2 years ago, and they sold it for $2,500.00
