OK, here is a strange question.... my corvette is right around 11-1 compression ratio, and rather than use really expensive race gas could i use 100 low lead aviation fuel? or would that cause big problems???
I typically mix 50/50 avgas to 93 octane pump in my 70 LT-1 if I am out cruisin around town. If I plan on takin it to the track, or really gettin into it... I buck up for the racing fuel. On a rare occasion I ran 93 only on the highway going to and from Bowling Green Ky (really babied it though) I haven't had a problem with pinging using this approach.

P.S. It isn't breakin the law in Missouri. if you put it in an approved gas can when you buy it.

i never looked into the laws or anything like that i was just trying to think of an alternative to 5 dollars a gallon. i am a pilot and there are lots of nice fuel trucks driving around thought i could work out a deal with putting a few gallons in the vette
I use it on my car - 93 unleaded, 1oz per gallon yeilds 96.5 leaded fuel,
actually it borders on low ead.
It works great and adds on 22 cents per gallon at 1oz per gallon.
Case of 12 32oz containers is 120.00 shipped.
I have no ping and my budy who has LS6 Chevelle runs it 1.5 oz per gallon -
great stuff.

11-1 isn't really that bad. Do you have alumunum heads and a big cam? You may be able to get away with 93 octane and retard the ingnition a few degrees.
I would hesitate using 100% aviation fuel, it doesn't have all the fuel additives that street gas has, but maybe that doesn't matter. I wouldn't go over a 50/50 mix. With my 10.7 to one engine (aluminum heads and big cam help) I use 93 octane, keep it at about 33 or 34 max timing for street use, VERY carefully tuned the vacuum advance and curve, and pull plugs at least once a week to check for detonation. Recently I installed an MSD adjustable timing box (can be used with HEI) that i use from inside the car to change timing +/- 7 degrees on the fly. If I get a bad tank of gas I retard it a few degrees. At the strip I fill up with 110 degree race gas, mixed with street gas, to up the octane, and then I advance the timing.
That TEL lead booster stuff the one guy talked about sounds interesting. I may check that out.
